Dr. Stephen Klause graduated Veterinary Medical School as the first class out of North Carolina State University in 1985. He then went on to do an Internship at Michigan State University and then completed a 3 year Surgical Residency at Colorado State University in 1989. He is a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and has 2 Masters Degrees (one in Surgical Sciences and one in Wildlife Biology). He has been at Arcadia Animal Hospital where he does referral surgeries since 1989. He has worked as a surgical consultant for the Greater Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens since 1991 and currently is one of their staff Veterinarians since 2000 working on everything from mice to elephants ! In 2014 he started another business - Veterinary Wildlife and Exotics to be able to provide field and in house medical and surgical support for all clients (Private, Foundations, Other Veterinarians, Colleges & Universities, Zoos, Sanctuaries, California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Government Agencies, etc.).

Dr. Klause holds a Private pilots license and flies and builds airplanes. He has a wide variety of interests and loves to be outdoors. If it’s fun – he probably does it !

To provide outstanding comprehensive Veterinary medical, surgical, and supportive care as well as maintaining the necessary regulatory requirements for these animals.

DENTAL FUN

Nobody likes going to the Dentist but even Bears need some dental help at times.
This is a 1000 pound Kodiak Brown Bear that had fractured one of his large K9 teeth. He was uncomfortable from that tooth damage so here he is getting a root canal done. Big Critters need Big Darts to get them under anesthesia for procedures.
